This is my second stay at Blakemore and I would love to come back for a third stay. The receptionists were pleasant and polite and gave us a good service and the public area was/is excellent. Our bedroom was clean and gave us all the room we wanted, and the staff upstairs were helpful and friendly. All in all a great stay at Blakemore.

Have stayed 4 times now.But this time,it was so hot, both in tyhe lobby and in the room.We were able to change rooms to one with an air conditioner which pleased us very much.Good value, good breakfast even if it is is extra on your bill. But the first room which was 414 was so small and soooooo hot I would have made that our last visit if we had not been upgraded for the same price.

On arrival the hotel from the outside was lovely on entering the reception everything was new and looked really good so we were very pleased , just as the hotel was on the photos , into the lift still looking good then the disappointment the room was so small my husband could almost touch both walls arms outstreched , the window would not open the one chair was falling to bits the power point was loose on the wall I could go on ! nothing like the photos that are on the web site . We asked to be moved which they did but the next room was nearly as bad but at least the window opened.

ideal when in london.rooms are quite small but why do you stay in the room all day when a city awaits you!! very clean, staff friendly would recomend to any one seeing the sights of london for a base.

For the price an excellent hotel. Most hotel rooms are small in London( these are small). Rooms do need some attention but all in all very clean and well located. Would use this hotel again

It's a great hotel, the people who work there are nice as can be and no one goes to London to stay inside a room. You'll spend most of your time out and about in London. Great hotel, and cheap, so this is the place to stay.

I expect NOTHING from British hotels, but The Blakemore was a surprise. My single room was small as a shoe box, the curtains were dark and depressing etc. My main impression: Nice staff (sleepy bar keeper, though), clean towels and bed and very nice prices and location. No one goes to London to stay in a hotel room?

Stayed there in Feb 2004. Very nice hotel for the price. Good location, nice staff. Small room but has everything you need for a short stay. Will stay again and recommend.

The staff was kind, and the place was clean, if tiny. North Americans are not used to such close quarters, but if you keep that in mind you'll be fine. The Blakemore is a 5 minute walk from both Queensway and Bayswater tube stations, in a very nice neighborhood right next to Hyde Park. We had a good time, and would probably stay there again.

Nice rooms (we had two tripple rooms), but a little bit shabby. The window didn't close properly, and the tv in one of the rooms didn't work (which is not really a problem as nobody goes to london to watch tv anyway). Very nice location in my oppinion, three underground stations just 3 minutes away, and the hyde park is virtually at the doorstep.

I was very disappointed in the first room I was assigned to. It was small and shabby with a saggy mattress, musty-smelling sheets, and a window that wouldn't close all the way, so it rattled every time the wind blew. I upgraded to an Executive room (for an additional fee), which was far more comfortable for my week-long stay. Overall, I wasn't very impressed by the staff who didn't seem to care much one way or the other. Also, the walk to and from the Bayswater tube is long enough to be a problem in bad weather or if you are carrying a day's shopping. I wouldn't stay there again and would choose someplace a little more comfortable and centrally located.

I have used this hotel on more than one occasion but I think their star rating is ¨optimistic¨ but at the price that can sometimes be offered its well worth considering. location is a bit of a problem for tube goers in bad weather.

Great stay. We were travelling with an 8 month old baby and they set up a cot for us and put us in a hotel room at the far end of a long hall to minimize the noise. The breakfast was good and the location was great. Lancaster station, Queensway, Baywater and Paddington all within a reasonable distance and being close to Kensington/Hyde park is magnificent. We will definitely stay here again. You can't beat the value.

Stayed 5 nights, sent another friend for a week :) Very good location, friendly staff, nice breakfast, morning walks to Hyde Park...
My internet booking was for 2 nights and I was able to extend it 3 more on the same rate.
Will def stay again when in London next time.

Five happy girls from Norway stayed for 3 nights. Friendly staff, nice hotel, and best of all: Nice price. But, what happend with the water in the shower at room 516? We will come back next year. Nice lobby, our regards to the friendly scottish people!

Stayed for two nights in a single room. probably the smallest room I'll ever stayed in, but I'm not in London to stay at the hotel, so it was good enough for me! Clean room, clean towels, no problem for the price I got! Will have no problem staying here again. The staff was very service minded and kind.

We stayed for 2 nights. For the price, accomodation was very satisfying. Plenty of hot water, clean towels and cleaning service. In a convenient location & close to underground. Staff polite. Only complaints are the small size of the room, no a/c, and slight smell of dampness. But, for a cheap stay,it was worth it.

The staff were terrible and unprofessional. The room was very small.
Good location.

the rooms were slightly small but comfortable they were clean and kept tidy by the staff plenty of hot water and fresh towels, the porterage and staff could be a little more freindly.
but good value for money

We stayed for 3 nights. The rooms were nice and clean. We even had air-conditioning. The bathroom was large for english standards. The staff were nice and helpful. The hotel is about 5 minutes away from 2 underground stations and close to Hyde Park which is pretty good. An excellent hotel for this price.

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The room smelled, the sheets seemed to have been used before, the noise from other rooms kept me awake all the time, but most of all, the staff were simply not interested.

a truly awful experience, very unhygenic hotel

The Blakemore is a nice hotel. The staff is ok. The room was clean and the service good.

Budget hotel but Super nice lobby, breakfast, and staff. The reason I say budget is because the rooms are small the the walls are thin. But you can't beat the location..red line of tube. Perfect. Walk across the street to hyde park. Nice, tree-lined area. Definitely recommend it if you need someplace cheap but with benefits. They even have a bar!

Decent public areas, but the room is a DISASTER - old, musty and dirty, even mold in the shower. I don't think the blankets had been washed, and the sheets were stained. We had warm water, but no water pressure at all. The phone was broken, yet the hotel put three calls through at 2 a.m.!!! And, they were not very nice about removing the 50p from the bill because we couldn't place our calls. If we hadn't paid in advance, we would have BOLTED from this awful hotel.

We stayed at the Blakemore for one week, and had an excellent time. Great location, quiet street and nice staff. Only two things to complain about: creaking floor (very loud!!!) and too high temparature (I expected to be cold in England, but it was the opposite in our room).
Posted at 02:23 13 Jan 2003 by S. McCormack Rating: 3
This is NOT a 3 star hotel. The walls are paper thin and the floors have no foundation so you can hear every noise in the rooms next to you and above. I was kept awake more than 2 nights by noise and disruptive guests. The staff was not very sympathetic about my discomfort. Nor were they well informed about even the surrounding area of the hotel. There was no shampoo or conditioner provided, the towels were old and ratty, the rooms substandard. I will not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Stayed in a single room for one night and like most vistors thought the outside of the hotel looked impressive -until I stepped into my room and felt my expectations were dampened slightly. The room was clean but basic, the decor was old-fashioned - like it was trapped in the 70's/80's and could do with some extreme updating. But for the price I paid......I suppose it was fairly good value at a convenient location. Also some of the staff could benefit with some customer care training though.

Superb. Very nice location right by Hyde Park and in a fairly quiet street. Rooms basic but good size and quality. Very nice bar (if a little pricey) and restaurant. All-in-all in a very nice hotel in a nice area which we can highly recommend.

Well I was not impressed, the room I got 306 was quite small, the curtains were very dirty and I could not closed the window. But the bathroom was nice but very small.

The relation rate-services was quite all right. We have had a small room but clean. Late in the evening and early in the morning noisy. The girls in the reception very kind. We have had good meals in the restaurant. We have been satisfied. Thank you for the recommandation.

LOOKS NICE FROM THE OUTSIDE, BUT THE ROOM WAS TINY, DOUBLLE BED WITH ONE FOOT OF SPACE DOWN ONE SIDE OF THE BED (THE OTHER SIDE WAS AGAINST THE WALL!) AND NO WALKING SPACE. ROOM SUITABLE FOR 1 PERSON AS I FOUND THAT MY BOYFRIEND AND I KEPT BANGING INTO EACH OTHER. BATHROOM WASN'T THE CLEANEST AND THE STAFF KEPT KNOCKING OUR DOOR IN THE MORNINGS, DON'T KNOW WHY.
WOULDN'T RECCOMMEND.

Nice people working there. I want to come back!

Spent two night at the Blakemore last Christmas. Room 116 (I still can remember!). We had a wonderful time. The room was spacious and clean and the staff was more than very helpful. I Had forgotten my credit card in a shop and they did absolutely evrything to help me. Will definitely chose this hotel again for my forthcoming stays.

Single room small. Staff not very helpful.
Posted at 08:21 11 Sep 2002 by L. Smith Rating: 3
The room was tiny, the sink was leaking onto the carpet so the room smelt of damp, the staff were rude and extremely unhelpful, none of them could speak fluent English, there was no hot water, and there weren't any clean towels some mornings. The window wouldn't open which made the room unbearably hot and stuffy. We made several complaints to reception, but nothing was done about anything until the day before we left. We were there for 10 days. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. The shell garage round the corner supplied better food than the restaurant.

this hotel looks real nice from the outside and in reception but once you get to your room things arn`t quite as good. For the money this hotel is quite good but the room was smallish and the bathroom was tiny and the shower didnt have a holder.but the staff were very good and well presented.
Posted at 01:55 16 Jul 2002 by Carolyn Rating: 9
Hotel was quite nice, bathroom small but clean! Room size was more than expected and plenty of closet and drawer space. Quiet residential location with easy access to the underground. Shops and restaurants within easy walking distant. Worth another stay!
Posted at 10:22 1 Jul 2002 by K. Ramin Rating: 5
Looked good from the outside, shame the rooms didn't match the 1st impressions! Clean and nice blackout curtains, but room was basic and small.
One other point... on this site it says check out time 12 noon... it was actually 11 am.
Posted at 06:18 26 Apr 2002 by fiz Rating: 8
2 nights in single room... small and l-shaped... bathroom really small, but fortunately sink was outside of it and there was plenty of counter space there... phone didn't work well in room (couldn't dial reception; dialing restaurant gave me another person's room! :( )... phone problem never fixed... but, regardless of this, the price was quite good... included breakfast quite decent, and
location was good... it is worth
considering

We stayed at the Blakemore for two weeks. It was clean, and most of the staff were helpful. There are odd quirks-such as no washcloths. Some of the staff could use training in proper customer service, though one of the women at the reception desk was absolutely outstanding. The food in the hotel restaurant was average. This is definitely a 2 star facility with a great deal of work needed to raise that rating.

we had a great time at the hotel the room was excellent it was very clean the hotel is really lovely and the staff are very friendly and helpful would go back time and time again and recommend it to anyone to stay there

The map does not clearly indicate the location of the hotel, it isn't as close to the underground as lead to believe. When entering the hotel you are welcomed by smokers sitting in the lounge not particularly welcoming. The room was quite difficult to get into. Outside the window was broken glass which alarmed me as I was staying on my own with a flat roof outside the window. Breakfast was satisfactory.

Had a wonderful time at the Blakemore, all staff were friendly and highly informative. Would recommend this hotel to all.
