I attended a wedding reception on Easter Sunday (yesterday) held at the hotel. The printed invitation clearly said that there was hotel complimentary parking available. As a consequence, I left my car in the car-park from 3pm until 9pm. When I collected the car, I was told that this was not the case and so had to pay £18 to retrieve it - even after showing the invitation to the receptionist who explained that a notice - (which had been put up afterwards) - mentioned that there was no free parking. This is truly appalling behaviour which is both dishonest and morally indefensible.
The hotel, which is very pleasant, is let down by such crass stupidities such as this.

Room was great.Food not brilliant and the housekeeping that walk straight into your room at 8.30 on a lazy sunday morning leaves something to be desired.Saying that i would stay again for the views and the area.

Unbelievably poor service, blase to the point of rude staff, zero customer care. Rooms tatty and cheap: our door lock and TV didn't work. Our double room reservation wasn't honoured and we were allocated a quad single bed room with no hint of apology. So much for our get-away-from-the-children romantic weekend! I only understood why this place is so terrible when I spotted on their literature that one of their sister hotels is the Britannia Adelphi in Liverpool - now notorious after that TV documentary. I have actually stayed there and it is the only hotel I have visited more awful than this!
